Astute observation

From Teller's book, God, No!:

There is no god and that’s the simple truth. If every trace of any single religion died out and nothing were passed on, it would never be created exactly that way again. There might be some other nonsense in its place, but not that exact nonsense. If all of science were wiped out, it would still be true and someone would find a way to figure it all out again.

NaNoWriMo failure

I signed up for NaNoWriMo for the first time this year but failed miserably.

Why? At last, the truth can be told: 

• I got a peritonsillar abscess the first week that made me very sick.


• During treatment for the abscess, my writing machine fell into water and was out of commission for three days, over a weekend.

I was never able to really recover from those setbacks. Took the wind out of my sails, it did!

Wow, this.

I so want to do this, it's not even funny! What's going on here?

iTunes Match-arrific

I got iTunes Match. How's it working out, you may ask?

It's actually working quite wonderfully!

The best part is that the songs pulled from the cloud are super-spectatualrly clear and rich. A definite noticable difference.

Second, streaming (well…"streaming") is fluid and quick and hardly with any interruptions. The only time I've encountered it is when going through known dead zones of reception between mountains, say (which happens during my commute).

I am quite satisfied with the service. Being able to tap "Shuffle" on an entire genre and have everything come up right away is pretty sweet.
